Glencore PLC (LON:GLEN) shares rose as the mining and commodities giant announced that Ivan Glasenberg is to retire as chief executive in the first half of next year. Gary Nagle, the head of the company’s coal operations, is to take over.


Greatland Gold PLC (LON:GGP) signed a series of new agreements, including a fully formed joint venture deal and loan agreement for the Havieron project, with Newcrest Mining Limited (ASX:NCM). The pair also signed a new joint venture agreement for the Black Hills and Paterson Range East licences, know as the Juri Joint Venture and Farm-in Agreement.


Metal Tiger PLC (LON:MTR) welcomed the decision by Sandfire Resources Limited (ASX:SFR) to push ahead with the development of the T3 Motheo copper project in Botswana. Aussie-listed Sandfire has published a definitive feasibility study for T3 Motheo that indicates a post-tax net present value of US$206mln.


Power Metals Resources PLC (LON:POW) announced the start of an exploration programme at the South Ghanzi project, part of the Kalahari Copper Belt in Botswana. South Ghanzi comprises two prospecting licences held in a venture with Kavango Resources PLC.


Oracle Power PLC (LON:ORCP) has begun field exploration work at the Northern Zone gold project in Western Australia. The project is located some 25 kilometres from the major gold mining centre in Kalgoorlie.


Caledonia Mining Corporation PLC (LON:CMCL) has fully equipped the new central shaft at its Blanket gold mine in Zimbabwe from the base to the collar. The shaft is now on track to be commissioned in the first quarter of 2021.


MetalNRG PLC (LON:MNRG) has said that it plans to revise the pre-feasibility study (PFS) on Imwelo Project when it completes the acquisition of the project owner, Lake Victoria Gold.


Horizonte Minerals PLC (LON:HZM) said it has made “significant progress” with key workstreams required to commence construction at its Araguaia nickel project in Brazil. The AIM-listed firm has completed a value engineering phase at the project.


BlueRock Diamonds PLC (LON:BRD) has recovered a 12.6-carat diamond from its Kareevlei Diamond Mine in the Kimberley region of South Africa. “To put this into perspective, given the average engagement ring weight in the UK is 0.6 carats, a 12.6-carat diamond is considered exceptional.”


Landore Resources Ltd‘s (LON:LND) drill programme at its BAM gold deposit, part of the Junior Lake project in Ontario, Canada, is progressing as planned. Some 3,620 metres of diamond core drilling has so far been completed.


Eurasia Mining PLC (LON: EUA) expects final approval on the definitive feasibility study (DFS) for its West Kytlim mine project in the Urals this month. The company noted that the DFS has now been approved by the working meeting of the Russian State Committee on Reserves.

The 120mln tonne open-pit waste mining contract sees the AIM-quoted company provide load & haul and ancillary services.


Ariana Resources PLC (LON:AAU) said it has reached a conditional agreement for the sale of its remaining projects in Turkey to Zenit Madencilik ahead of the planned completion of its agreements with Ozaltin Holding and Proccea Construction. The AIM-listed company said its operating subsidiary has agreed to sell its three remaining Turkish projects to Zenit for US$2mln in cash.


Thor Mining PLC (LON:THR)(ASX: THR) has recovered high-grade gold in stream sediment samples taken from the Pilbara Goldfield Ragged Range project in Western Australia. Among the highlights were grades of higher than two grams per tonne.


Scotgold Resources Ltd (LON:SGZ) has poured its first gold from the Cononish mine in Scotland. The company is now focused on completing an accelerated expansion plan to increase production at the mine to 23,500 ounces per year.


Mineral & Financial Investments Ltd (LON:MAFL) shares gained more than 10% as NAV rose 7% over a twelve-month period. The group’s investment portfolio was said to be worth GBP5.31mln, up 7.3%.


Chrome and PGM miner Tharisa PLC (LON:THS) boosted revenue by 18.4% to US$406mln in the year to September 30, 2020. The firm’s earnings rose by 119.8% to US$113.1mln.
