Oracle Power PLC (LON:ORCP) has appointed veteran David Hutchins to its board as a non-executive director with immediate effect.

The international power and natural resource project developer said Hutchins has more than 30 years of experience in corporate mining and commodities. He has held several executive roles for both listed and private companies and is currently the chair of the FTSE Gold Mines Index Committee.

Hutchins has also held a range of senior roles within fund management, including various senior positions at M&G Group, and was a director and founder of www.minesite.com.

He is a board member of Wishbone Gold, a company operating in exploration, mining and bullion trading, which like Oracle has gold exploration projects in Australia.

“On behalf of the board, I am very pleased to welcome David to Oracle,” said Oracle chief executive Naheed Memon. “His extensive understanding of, and career in, the natural resources sector will be of significant value to Oracle as we continue to develop and expand our portfolio to become an international power and natural resource project developer.

“As we look to advance our Western Australian gold assets, we expect his proficiency in the sector to prove a particular asset to the company, adding to the existing knowledge already within Oracle.”
