What Iconic Labs does
The company is headed by chief executive John Quinlan and chief business officer Liam Harrington, the founders of social first publishing site UNILAD, currently one of the biggest news and entertainment sites in the world, with around 42mln followers on its Facebook page.
Iconic’s current focus is on expanding its own content platform as well as a portfolio of digital brands and products through both acquisitions and organic growth.
How it is doing
In October, Iconic Labs took over the management of JOE Media Ireland following the brand’s acquisition by Greencastle Capital.
Greencastle also agreed to increase the monthly management fee to £100,000 from £50,000 with immediate effect, while the firm’s entitlement to a 25% share of profits remains in place, to better reflect the costs of managing it.
In September the firm unveiled a commercial partnership agreement with Glimpse Protocol, a provider of advanced online advertising technologies.
The Glimpse Protocol platform is currently live on digital newspaper TheLondonEconomic (TLE), protecting 1.5mln readers so far from their browsing information being obtained by other parties.
What the boss says: Samuel Regan Asante, chief operating officer
“We are very pleased to announce a partnership with Glimpse Protocol who are leading the way in cookie-less technologies within the AdTech industry.”
“Iconic Labs is aiming to establish itself as a leader in both the tech and media fields and Glimpse Protocol’s technology presents the perfect balance of the two. With Glimpse Protocol’s existing partnership with The Founder’s Factory we’re excited about their future as a leader in the industry.”
