Guild Esports PLC (LON:GILD) said it had won its second major trophy after its Rocket League team achieved first place in the Rocket League Championship Series (RLCS) EU Spring Regional, held on 15-18 April.
The company said its team, comprised of players Thomas Binkhorst, Joseph Kidd and David Morrow, had won first place as part of a three-man squad in the final of the competition, which achieved a continuous peak Sunday broadcast of over 100,000 viewers on Twitch, alongside winnings of US$30,000.
Guild said its team is now ranked fourth among Europe’s top Rocket League teams and has secured its entry into the next two major competitions, the RLCS Season X – Spring: European Major, which is due to take place between May 15-16, and the RLCS Season X – European Championship which will be held between June 16-20. Prize pools for the contests are US$100,000 and US$400,000 respectively.
